Bride’s Story

To be honest I was unsure about going on my frist date (basicly a blind date) with Josh, but when I walked in the resturant and saw him for the first time I thought he was cute, tall, handsome and had sweet eyes! By the end of the date I knew there was something special, honest and different about Josh. On our second date I felt God tell me he was the one for me! My heart soon agreed and I fell for this silly guy! Josh came at just the right time and has been such a blessing to me! He constantly amazes and wows me with his romantic flair. I know the rest of our lives will be full of fun and love.

Groom’s Story

From the moment I laid eyes on Jaime I was enamored. I could tell there was something different about her. And after our second date, I knew she was the girl I was going to marry. Every day with her has been incredible, and full of adventure and love.

I can't wait to spend every day of the rest of my life with my best friend!

OUR LOVELINE

I first saw Jaime at my sister Amber's graduation party. After telling Amber that I had to meet Jaime, she introduced us a few weeks later, and our story picks up on our first date...

Our First Date

We had our first date at Mi Cocina, and I showed up probably 20 minutes early. I was pretty nervous. I think I sat at 3 or 4 different tables in the restaurant before I found the perfect one, tucked away. Jaime was so beautiful that night, and after the date, I asked her twice if she wanted to go out again, just to make sure.

When I Knew (Josh)

I knew Jaime was the one after our second date. I had planned on taking her to Top Golf, but once we got there, there was a 2+ hour wait. So instead I took her to a hotel nearby that I knew had a great little restaurant inside, and that had a relaxing outdoor patio and pool. When we got there, we were practically the only people there. After dinner, we sat with our feet in the pool and talked for hours. Our conversations were deep and meaningful right from the start. The next day my heart felt like it had never felt before. I knew I was going to marry this girl one day.

Jaime Went to Africa

Jaime spent 11 days in Nigeria, and during this time, I never felt such a range of emotions over someone before. I was afraid for her, I needed her, I wanted to be with her, I stayed up late hoping she would be able to call or text, I had trouble sleeping, I had trouble focusing, I had trouble working, my heart hurt. This trip helped me realize just how much I loved Jaime. Our next trip will be together...

When I Knew (Jaime)

I pretty well knew I was going to marry Josh on our second date. Though it was on the plane ride back from Nigeria that I knew I loved Josh. I remember praying on the plane that God would protect me because I had to get home and tell Josh I loved him! I think that absence makes the heart reveal how you truly feel. For me it made it apparent that Josh was the one I love and want to sare my life with always! I got home and made sure to make a big romantic gesture (Josh Style) to tell him how I feel!

Our First Christmas

One of the most exciting things for me while dating has been Christmas Time! I was so excited to finally add our sixth stocking at my parents house for Josh. I have been waiting for 27 years to hang that stocking! Josh and I bought and wrapped presents together. We picked out the perfect first Christmas tree and decorated it. We even made gluten free sugar cookies and decorated them. It was so much fun preparing and celebrating Christ this season with my sweet guy and my new family!

The Proposal

I told Jaime that once we landed in San Diego, we'd be having dinner at a nice restaurant at Balboa Park. I had a photographer hiding to take photos, and when we got to the park, it was all done up for Christmas. As we walked through the park, Jaime wanted to stop and see everything. But I knew I needed to be at the spot with the photographer waiting, so I kept telling Jaime "we'll come back". I was sort of dragging her in my nervousness. The proposal was almost surreal, and I think I cried more than Jaime! She said yes!
